January 2018 Membersip Meeting Highlights

The Electrical Contractors’ Association of City of Chicago (ECA) held its first Membership Meeting for 2018 during the Electric Association (EA) Annual Conference and Trade Show.  The Membership Meeting was held on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at the Drury Lane Conference Center in Oak Brook, Illinois.  The session announced the recent election of the ECA Executive Committee, the ECA Officers, the 2018 Committee appointments made by ECA President, Eric Nixon, Maron Electric Company.  The Association welcomes Nicholas Santoro, JMS Electric, Inc. as the newest ECA Executive Committee member.  The luncheon meeting also highlighted the 2018 ECA Research and Education Committee Programming Schedule.  Three of seven programs will be complimentary; the other four have been dramatically reduced in price.   The ECA 2018 Budget was also reviewed.  Several guest presenters included:  Dr. Daniel Tomal, IIT Facilitator and Dr. John Donahue,INTECH Director.  City of Chicago Department of Buildings Commissioner Judy Frydland also made a guest appearance.

Towards the conclusion of the Electric Association Annual Conference, two ECA members were presented with the Electric Association's inaugural "Volunteer of the Year" Award.  "Congratulations!" goes out to Michael Meyer, Continental Electrical Construction Company and Jerry McGlynn, McWiliams Electric Company, Inc.

The next ECA Regular Membership Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Maggiano’s Banquets in Oak Brook, Illinois.  David Long, NECA President will be the guest speaker.  We hope that you will join us as we meet David Long.
