NECA 2019 Legislative Conference

The NECA Legislative Conference was held April 29 – 30, 2019. The event was held at the Mandarin Oriental
Hotel in Washington, D.C. The attendees were able to visit with their Representatives and Senators and/or staff on Tuesday, April 30th. The Illinois contingent was fortunate that many of the Congressmen were able to visit the group at one location. The group was able to present NECA Position Papers at that time, as well as on their visits to the Congressional offi ces. The many concerns important to union electrical contractors, as well as subcontractor business issues included the following: Issues concerning Subchapter S Corporations, Removal of Cadillac Tax, Composite plan for Multi-employer Pension plans, 529 Education plan for Apprentice programs, Getting paid in a timely manner on federal projects, among other issues. We thank those from the Chicago & Cook County Chapter who were able to participate. We look forward to seeing you at next year’s event!
