"Basic Estimating of Electrical Construction" Workshop - Successful Program!

The workshop was held at the Drake Oak Brook Hotel, 2301 York Road, Oak Brook, IL 60523

"Basic Estimating of Electrical Construction" Workshop

The ECA's Research and Education Committee presented an "in-person" classroom program called, "Basic Estimating of Electrical Construction." The program was conducted by Robert Mooty, former NECA Education Instructor. The program was held on May 10 - 12, 2021 at the Drake Oak Brook Hotel.

Mr. Mooty discussed that small mistakes in an estimate can have a huge impact on a firm's bid’s bottom line and this course provided the tools needed to be both comprehensive and competitive. The course also discussed the process for assembling an estimate, including the folllowing: developing material lists, applying labor unit data, material takeoff and application of direct job costs, overhead, and profit.
