NECA Legislative Conference

The 2025 NECA Legislative Conference was held on Monday, April 28 to Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at the Salamander Hotel in Washington, DC. This conference is the premier event for electrical contractors to hear about the top legislative issues affecting the industry and meet the leaders who are working to provide real solutions. This year’s event had a large contingency (9) from the Chapter, as well as the state (23). Illinois had the largest contingent; there were over180 conference attendees.

First NECA Contractor elected to Congress
NECA members heard firsthand from lawmakers deeply rooted in the construction and electrical industries. They discussed key legislative issues affecting electrical contracting, workforce development, and future infrastructure investment. This dynamic conversation explored policy, labor, and business in construction.
Navigating the 2025 Tax Debate
The attendees saw an expert-led panel discussion on current and proposed changes concerning tax reform, their effects on businesses of all sizes, and what those changes could mean for the electrical construction industry.
Powering the Future: Electrical Contractor Industry & Apprenticeship Program Showcase
Taking place on National Apprenticeship Day, the Showcase highlighted the crucial role of electrical contractors and their dynamic apprenticeship programs to Members of Congress and staff. Legislative Conference attendees were able to educate legislators about the industry and the types of work that our electrical contractors do.
Capitol Hill Visits
Members had meetings with their representatives on Capitol Hill. Also, U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth met with the Illinois contingent for over 45 minutes at the NECA Legislative Office.
