The ECA Young Professionals Committee held its Winter Leadership event called, "Take Control of Your Material” that was held on Thursday, February 12, 2026 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Top Golf in Schaumburg, IL.

This event featured a brief presentation from Elbert Walters, III, Powering Chicago Executive Director who gave an overall Powering Chicago update, as well as a discussion concerning the current "Power of Better" campaign.  We hope that all signatory contractors with Local #134 IBEW pursue participation with the "Power of Better” campaign regarding upcoming projects.

The event also featured representatives from Remarcable:  Nate Wragge, Account Executive, and Tripp Brockway, VP of Sales, as they presented “Material Management Interactive Training - Take control of your material - Uncovering the hidden costs in material purchasing and material management.” Electrical contractors are operating in a period of profound industry transition where shifting market conditions, advancements in AI, and growing demands for transparency are redefining how companies compete and deliver work. Challenges around material pricing predictability, fragmented communication across teams, and legacy processes continue to create a hidden drag on margins and productivity. The Remarcable presentation offered best practices to mitigate these challenges. 

The attendees also enjoyed the good food, drinks, and Top Golf following the presentations!
