The Electrical Contractors' Association of City of Chicago (ECA) Research and Education Committee is pleased to announce a webinar called, "Fire Your Accountant." The seminar is being conducted by Dave O'Brien, Mosley, Pfundt & Glick Inc. The program will be a virtual classroom event held on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 from 1:00 pm. to 4:00 pm.

Do you have a good accountant? How do you know? This course presents a qualitative evaluation process for selecting advisors, including methods to evaluate their performance, to develop strong, long-lasting relationships.

This program explains a more qualitative evaluation process that you can use when selecting advisors and methods to evaluate their annual performance and develop a strong proactive long-lasting relationship to the benefit of you and your company. The instructor will share specific examples of what a “good” CPA will do and what a “bad” CPA might do. He will discuss various topics such as accounting systems, accounting staff, financial reporting, management information, corporate planning, personal planning, estate planning and taxes to name a few. A good CPA can be a business partner and advisor. If chosen for the right reasons, a CPA can significantly enhance business profits and opportunities. Choose and keep a CPA who helps you see the future! We all know what we did last year; we need to surround ourselves with competent advisors who can guide our future, challenge us and give us the right answer.

Following this course, participants will be able to:
  • Discuss how to select financial advisors
  • Describe how to evaluate performance
