ECA Chicago Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Contractor Training: Session 2

Presented by Alex Willis, Leadership Surge

Zoom Webinar

ECA Chicago is pleased to announce the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion training program specifically designed for Electrical Contractors.

SESSION 2: SEPTEMBER 14TH AT 1PM

ECA Chicago recognizes that diversity strengthens our workforce, benefits our communities and makes our industry stronger and more competitive. ECA is pleased to partner with Leadership Surge, a training and development firm who works with frontline leaders on developing awareness, understanding and proficiencies in diversity, equity and inclusion. We kicked off our year long program on May 5 with the 4 Lenses Personality Training as our first session. We’ve also been sharing weekly mini-activities throughout the months of July and August.

Our second quarterly webinar looks at trust, respect and tackling bias. This workshop will take on implicit and unconscious bias by outlining a practical organizational framework that helps participants on their journey "beyond bias." By participating in this training, you will:

  • Understand the various biases that people exhibit

  • Explore social identities and how those interact with bias

  • Learn how to go beyond simple awareness of unconscious bias and discover specific actions to break the habit of biases and their negative consequences

  • Leverage talent and cultivate equity, diversity and inclusion in a diverse and global workforce

  • Create an individual plan of action to overcome their specific bias challenges and contribute to a culture of greater authenticity and psychological safety at your organization

Who should attend?  Company leaders, and frontline supervisors from all levels within your Company. (Owners, Executive Team, HR, Division Managers, Project Managers, Team leaders and more)

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion November Mini-Activities

ECA Chicago is proud to continue our partnership with Leadership Surge to create inclusive work environments in which all people feel as though they belong.  This month we are exploring how compassion plays a major role into inclusive work environments.

Compassion is when you notice another person is in need, and you have concern for them that you want to show. Compassion can include a number of components: feeling in your heart for others; understanding and caring about the feelings of others; understanding what others need or want; and wanting to do something that might help. To know if someone needs compassion we look for clues, like emotions. We show compassion by saying and doing things that show others we care.

Compassion is when you SEE someone in need, CARE about their feelings, and DO something to show you care.
