Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure: Informational Class for ECA Contractors

September 28th, 2021 - 8am to 4pm at INTECH

The Electric Vehicle market continues to expand in North America, and it is critical that Electrical Vehicle Service Equipment (EVSE) be properly installed to the highest standards of safety and quality. The Electrical Vehicle Infrastructure Training Program (EVITP) was designed to provide installers with the most comprehensive classroom and hands-on training available in the market today. All EVITP Certified Installers must pass a certification exam for proof of knowledge and skill.

The IBEW-NECA Technical Institute, the apprenticeship training school for NECA Chicago and IBEW 134, has incorporated the certification program into their regular night school training, offering Journeymen Electricians the opportunity to become a certified EVITP installer, certified to work on your EV project.

ECA Chicago is hosting a one-day course for all Office Employees - Non-Bargained Employees, that may include Project Managers, Project Engineers, Estimators, Superintendents, or Management who need to learn more about the requirements for EV Charging Infrastructure Projects.
This is an informational class only, not the EVITP Certification course.

This class will help educate Electrical Contractors’, so they feel confident in bidding and installing Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure.  President Biden’s Infrastructure Spending Plan calls for 500,000 new EV Charging Stations across the Midwest, and this course will prepare you to go out and get this work!

We have condensed the 18-hour EVITP Certification course into a one day (8 hour) Informational course that will touch on the following content, so the Contractor has a general understanding of what an EV Charging Infrastructure Project will entail.
