Josh Bone’s Presentation Highlights

"Why it’s time to Embrace Tech in Construction":

New technology can be perceived as a threat to some construction professionals while the same technology is viewed as a new opportunity to others in our industry. Where do you stand today and how can you change your perspective to see new opportunities when they arise? In this talk Josh covered how new technologies are changing the way projects are designed and constructed presenting us with new challenges and opportunities throughout the entire building life cycle. Participants learned how you can diversify your business and transition your company from a commodity to a consultant.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify new opportunities that are arising from new technologies in the construction industry.
  2. Discuss the difference in how individuals perceive change.
  3. Explore new methods of challenging ourselves to embrace change.
  4. Understand how all the rapid change that is occurring in construction is impacting us in our own roles.

Lonnie Cumpton's Presentation Highlights

Positioning your business for Off-Site Construction:

Electrical Contractors of all sizes and in all regions are being impacted by the skilled labor shortage found throughout the construction industry. When you compare the predictions of population growth and it’s required needs for all types of buildings, against the growth numbers for skilled labor, it is actually scary. In this session Lonnie asked and discussed the question, "Is your business positioned to take advantage of the benefits of off-site construction?"

Learning Objectives:

  • Define Off-Site Construction, Pre-Fab and Construction Manufacturing.
  • Identify the off-site construction trends and how your company can incorporate them.
  • Explore the topic of Buy vs. Build
