ECA 49th Annual Spring Conference a Success!
The ECA 49th Annual Spring Conference was held at the American Club in Kohler, Wisconsin.
The Electrical Contractors’ Association of City of Chicago (ECA) held its 49th Annual Spring Conference on June 9-10, 2021 at the American Club in Kohler, Wisconsin. The American Club is one of the premier resort hotels in the country. It is the only AAA Five Diamond Resort in the Midwest. This year’s Conference had 80 individuals registered. 70 golfers were able to experience the River Course at Blackwolf Run on June 9th. That evening’s reception/dinner meeting provided members with the latest information regarding industry events.
A number of members were also honored that session, including the following:
- Katie Canino, Canino Electric Company and Karen Dinkins of Taylor Electric Company each received the “Crain’s Chicago Business Notable Women of Construction & Design in 2021” Recognition Award;
- Midwest Interstate Electrical Construction Company was acknowledged with a plaque from NECA for 50 years of membership - Congratulations to Jack Shannon and all at Midwest Interstate Electrical Construction Company;
- Lyons Electric Company, Inc. also received a plaque from NECA for 25 years of membership – Congratulations to Gary Miska and all at Lyons Electric Company, Inc.; and
- William Darnstadt received the “ECA Award of Excellence” for his many years of service to the industry -Congratulations, Bill!
The morning Business Session on June 10th featured Nic Bittle, Work Force Pro’s presentation, "Leadership Succession: Quit Talking About It and Do It." He discussed the personal and professional attributes that are crucial for Field Supervision to have to be productive and successful in this industry. Nic Bittle is the founder of Work Force Pro and works with contractors that want to prepare and develop their workforce to lead with impact, act like a pro, and perform at their best on a daily basis. He does this in a variety of different ways. Through presentations and workshops, through tools that he has developed which are designed to support the learning process, and through a unique information delivery system called D.R.I.P. Information™. He is the architect of 2 performance improvement process curriculums, that use the D.R.I.P. Information™ process that are specifically designed to prepare and develop our current and next generation work force for the roles and responsibilities that lie ahead. Nic is author of four books, “Small Business, BIG Mistakes,” “Perform Like the Boss!,” “Good Foreman; Bad Foreman,” and “Know This, Do That.”
