The IBEW – NECA Technical Institute (INTECH) under the direction of the Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Trainee Trust (EJATT), held its Graduation Ceremony on Saturday, October 8, 2022.  The event was held at the Aon Grand Ballroom of Navy Pier in Chicago.  Over 170 graduates were in attendance as part of the overall training program consisting of over 350 graduates.  The evening’s ceremony was not for current apprentices completing the program, but this special session was for those graduates who were unable to have a ceremony due to prior COVID concerns.  Another session may be coordinated to have the graduations aligned as in the past.

The Graduation Ceremony featured industry speakers, an Awards presentation, and acknowledgment of all the graduates.  Gene Kent, INTECH Director facilitated the program.  John Donahue, former INTECH Director, current President of St. Rita High School and ordained Deacon in the Archdiocese of Chicago, gave the Invocation.  Don Finn, Business Manager, Local #134 IBEW and Rick Jamerson, Electrical Contractors’ Association of City of Chicago (ECA) President, Jamerson & Bauwens Electrical Contractors, Inc. each congratulated the graduates and emphasized the need for continued education.  The Awards were presented as follows:  Andrea Hall Apprentice Excellence Award – Pamela A. Wilson; Terry Allen Brotherhood Award – Michael Farrell; “C” Program Apprentice of the Year – Alicia N. Johnson and “A” Program Apprentice of the Year – Asiel Poole.

The ECA congratulates all of the graduates and awardees and wishes them well as they continue in the industry!
