The ECA Regular Membership Meeting for February was held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at the University Club of Chicago, 76 E. Monroe Street, in Chicago, IL.  The program featured industry updates and a guest presentation by Jerry Lewis, 1901 Project.   

Mr. Lewis is the President of JLL Construction, Jerry serves as the Executive Director of the 1901 Community Implementation Committee (CIC), where he oversees community‑driven initiatives and long‑term development strategies. He also serves as the Senior Trainer for the professional training program within 1901 CIC, leading workforce development efforts that enhance industry skills and cultivate emerging talent. Known for his collaborative leadership style, commitment to innovation, and dedication to community impact, Jerry continues to position both JLL Construction and 1901 CIC as forward‑thinking organizations delivering lasting value on a global scale.

1901 Project - Vision
A transformative $7 billion private investment on Chicago’s West Side celebrating Chicago’s unique spirit. Spearheaded by the Reinsdorf and Wirtz families, The 1901 Project will transform the West Side with a jolt of new development, bridging neighborhoods and enhancing opportunities for residents, businesses and all of Chicago.

Topic Points of Mr. Lewis' discussion included:

• History about 1901 CIC and the 1901 Project;
• Economic development & workforce opportunities; 
• What is unique about the project / Updates on the Project;
• What is the overall project schedule / Upcoming projects coming out to bid;
• Information on union and manpower needed;
• When can contractors expect to be working.
