Labor Relations

The Association has a long history of positive labor relations with our partner and counterpart IBEW Local 134.

We´re proud of our successful efforts at positive labor relations. Our long-standing partnership with IBEW Local 134 has greatly benefitted both organizations. The links to the left will tell you more about IBEW Local 134, show you the details of our labor-management agreements and wage history, and show you how we maintain a successful partnership through the Electrical Joint Arbitration Board.

Agreements

The contractors represented by ECA employ the electricians of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local Union 134, under the following agreements:

Principal Agreement

Residential Agreement

Communication Agreement

The ECA negotiates and administers collective bargaining agreements (cba) on behalf of members and contractors engaged in business practices in electrical construction, communication and low voltage, residential, maintenance and lighting retrofit work.

Electrical Joint Arbitration Board

The Electrical Joint Arbitration Board (EJAB) consists of an equal number of labor and management representatives. The EJAB meets to resolve grievances concerning all of our labor agreements negotiated by and between the Association and IBEW Local Union 134. Many potential grievances are avoided through prior discussion. The EJAB also negotiates wage settlements and contract language for the principle agreement, residential agreement, communication agreement, and lighting retrofit agreement.
