ECA held its final Breakfast Club event on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Hamburger University in Oak Brook, Illinois.   The event was well attended as Steve Richman, Group President of Milwaukee Tool was the guest speaker.  Mr. Richman oversees Global Product Development, Manufacturing and Operations for each division.  He shared tips on how to better shift a company’s focus from day-to-day planning to innovation.  His “Change Agent” discussion enlightened the attendees regarding the cultural shift that led a stagnant organization to a new product development machine focused on ‘disruptive innovation’ and being a solutions provider to the mechanical and electrical industries.

Mr. Richman’s presentation focused on various aspects of being a Disruptive Change Agent.  His company had to shift gears to evolve into a nimble, focused, more productive company.  He discussed areas concerning operations, culture and strategy.  The “need to delight their users” became their new philosophy.  The strategy created a leaner firm with a focused staff.  He encouraged the extension of this philosophy to assist firms in any market.  Becoming a Change Agent will allow for continual improvement and growth.  We thank Mr. Richman for his insightful presentation.  We hope that you have enjoyed the Breakfast Club Executive Study series.
