NECA 2010 Convention - Boston
-Convention Expense Allowance-
As you are aware, the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) is holding its Annual Convention & Trade Show October 2 - 5, 2010. The event will be held at Boston's state-of-the-art new Convention Center: The Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (BCEC). The Chapter rooming block at The Four Seasons Boston Hotel has been exhausted. CONVENTION EXPENSE ALLOWANCE
The Electrical Contractors' Association of City of Chicago Executive Committee has recently approved a Convention Expense Allowance. The Convention Expense Allowance of $575.00 will be available for up to three representatives of ECA member firms who each pay for a full Convention Registration. The allowance check will be disbursed following the Convention.

Opening Reception- 10/2/10
"A Grand Slam Night at Jillian's" - Explore three floors of amazing entertainment, fun and games.
Opening General Session- 10/3/10
"Adventures in Deep Sea Exploration: Living the Dream" - Presentation by Dr. Robert Ballard, deep-sea explorer who discovered the Titanic in 1985 and tracked down other shipwrecks including the Bismarck, PT 109, among others.
Chicago & Cook County Chapter Event - 10/4/10
The Chapter event is a reception/dinner to be held at the Boston Four Seasons Hotel.
Closing General Session- 10/5/10
Chief Warrant Officer Michael J. Durant was in a MH-60 Blackhawk that was blasted out of the sky over Mogadishu on October 3, 1993. His story was told in the book and film, "Black Hawk Down." He is also the author of "In the Company of Heroes." He will share his story and insights.

"The Fab Four: A Tribute to the Beatles" - dance areas, cash bars available for this unique event.
NECA has a number of activities that are new to this year's Convention which include the following: the 2010 NECA Trade Show will be open to all children accompanied by an adult (all they need is a badge for admission to the Trade Show floor); new Women's Peer Group and Safety Roundtable; the "Contractors Challenge" as a program to help bring your talented employees to the Trade Show; energy efficiency solutions spread out throughout the Trade Show floor and a special orientation session for first-time attendees to a NECA Convention.
We hope that you will take advantage of the opportunity to not only participate with the many activities available in Boston and the surrounding areas, but to also visit and participate with the General Sessions, the special events, the Trade Show, the Management and Technical Seminars and other educational programming. Registration began June 1st.
