The Electrical Contractors´ Association of City of Chicago works in a labor-management cooperative effort with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local Union 134. The result is the Labor Management Cooperation Committee of Chicago (LMCC/Chicago).
The Labor Management Cooperation Committee of Chicago (LMCC/Chicago) actively promotes the electrical contracting industry in several ways. Innovations in the electrical contracting industry that come about through the joint efforts of management and labor are highlighted. The quality training a Union electrician receives is emphasized. The way these efforts come together to benefit the customer are also made known. The LMCC aggressively promotes to our customers the benefits of utilizing skilled Union electricians and quality Union electrical contractors. The promotion to our target market and to the public is accomplished through print, television, radio, and word-of-mouth. In addition, the LMCC sponsors a joint-appreciation dinner to promote communication between labor and management representatives to foster positive industry relationships.
Advertising Campaign
Our successful "Realize Your Power" campaign features the Electrician Certification Card. The Certification Card is offered to all IBEW Local Union 134 inside construction and residential electricians and apprentices working for contractors who are represented by the Electrical Contractors´ Association of City of Chicago. In 1998 the "Certification Program" was expanded to include all contributing contractors. We hope the public will have a better understanding of the commitment our contractors and electricians have in producing a top quality, safe, and cost-effective project.
