The ECA September Membership meeting was held on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Swift and Sons Restaurant in Chicago.  The meeting featured two guest speakers, Dr. Gustavo Grodnitsky and Brian Imus, Executive Director of the Illinois Green Alliance (formerly the Illinois Chapter of the USGBC).

Dr. Grodnitzky discussed his recent book, "Culture Trumps Everything: The Unexpected Truth about the Ways Environment Changes Biology, Psychology, and Behavior." The book investigates the powerful ways how organizational culture impacts the creation of "quintessence" in organizations. It is this quintessence - or lack thereof - that ultimately determines the success and sustainability of organizations. If we want to ensure the best possible outcomes for ourselves and our organizations, we must focus on developing an organizational culture that fosters quintessence, and leads to success for all stakeholders, because...culture trumps everything.

Mr. Imus offered a brief background as to benefits of participation with the Illinois Green Alliance, as well as information concerning the upcoming GREENBUILD Conference.

We thank them both for their participation.  We hope that you will be able to attend the next ECA Membership Meeting which will have a legislative focus with guest speakers:  Marco Giamberardino, NECA Executive Director of Government Affairs and Jessica Newbold, IMSCA Executive Director.  The session will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Smith & Wollensky's in Chicago.
